Peony (Paeonia belongs to the genus) Originating from Europe, Asia or North America. The genus includes herbaceous perennial plants, but also shrubs or woody species.
Peonies require deep, fertile, well-drained soil, enriched with humus. Before planting it is good to enrich the country by adding fertilizer or compost. Direct sun with no wind suits them, although they can survive and in the half-shade. Plants should be fertilized regularly, moderately watered and kept clean of weeds.
The flowers will be bigger if all except the terminal bud removed. If you see brown spots on the young shoots, it is because the fungus that attacks them due to the excessive moisture. Then you have to cut off the infected shoots a little above the ground and sprayed with some of the fungicides. Peonies are long-lived plants, but are very sensitive when transplantation or reproduction.
Propagation is done by dividing shrubs, cuttings from trees or grafting.
